Cambios!

Well I got changed again and everything is going so good! I have 5 and a half months in the mission and I’ve had 4 areas and 5 companions! It’s awesome!!

My last day in my other area I had a feeling that I was going to go and then I went but before I went and talked to some of the people in this area and one guy is a big ole thug that if he was white you would call him a red neck and he just is one of those guys who doesn’t cry and he never goes to church... so in this last day I visited him and shared a message and the spirit was so strong and he started crying and I starting crying and the spirit was insane vie never felt the spirit so strong in my entire mission and I’m so happy that it went so amazingly and I hope that he actually decides to start attending church!

I’m in a new area where they have a whole bunch of people in this area just about ready to be baptized. We are opening this area because the other missionaries here did such a great job that they needed other missionaries to help them out with all of their converts and investigators and so I’m excited to be here in Zacapu, Michuacan. my new companion is Elder ;Mujica and he is very experienced.... in life and in the mission... he’s like 27 years old but everything is going so good here and the weather is so great! I’m so excited to be here!!!

I love you all!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Man! This week was trying but really great!!! First of all I just want to say that I was so lucky to have a mom like I do who will do anything for her kids. I have always had what I needed throughout my life and I owe it all to my mom. She is the most amazing example to live a Christ like life. I wouldn’t be where I am without my mom.  I love you mom!!!

I got to talk to almost all my family yesterday and I was so awesome to see them again! We had some problems with skype so we didn’t get the full time but it was like a fresh breath of air to be able to talk to them and just remember everything for like an hour! We are actually not allowed to think about it for very long so had to remember everything about the work right after that. Anyways everything went really good being able to talk them was awesome!

We have been finding a whole bunch of people but because of the work here everybody works on Sundays so nobody progresses and it’s really hard to get them to go to church. but we had a kid in our ward that lives in a family that is less active go to church and decided he wanted to go on a mission and he said it’s because of us so that just felt so good!

This week we decided to be exactly obedient and work harder and do everything we can to help these people! It’s honestly really hard but I know it will be rewarding! I read a scripture in either that says you don’t receive a testimony of your faith until after the trial of your faith.  It’s exciting to know that even if the blessings don’t come from being obedient right now they will come after the trial of my faith! It gives me more motivation to work every day super hard because we will see results and blessing if we continue even when we don’t think it’s working out!

Love you all! Shoot me an email!

This Week

So this week was so sweet but I have like no time to write! ha-ha! I had an experience that happened while I was on divisions with Elder Mills our district leader!

We had an amazing experience when we were doing divisions with Elder Mills. We got a reference from a member, her brother, and she had given it to the missionaries before but it’s really of the way and they never went. So we were talking to people and we found another person from there the day before, so Elder Mills and I said ok we are going to go find this area and find the reference and we put a goal to talk to 25 people this day and up to that point we hadn’t talked to very many. So we finally went there and the streets don’t have names and the houses don’t have numbers and the guy we talked to the day before said just knock on a door and ask for there name everybody is really nice and knows everybody. So we said ok! So we went and talked to every single person that was in the street and they would give us a house and it wasn’t them but we talked to them and wrote around where their houses are and we searched for about an hour and a half and we literally had zero success. So we said let’s go back but first let’s go down this street. We went down this street and I saw someone to talk to so I asked her if she know this person that we talked to and it was literally the house in front of us. Then we asked her for her name and she told us Guadalupe Reynoso and we were looking for Francisco Reynoso and I was like no way! She was his sister and she showed us where he lived and we got 5 new investigators and throughout the day we completed our goal of talking to 25 people!!! It was so cool for me to have this experience because if everything didn’t happen exactly like it did we would have never found him that day!!!

This is what I wrote to the President so it’s weird and I don’t know how to change it. haha But I hope it makes sense and everything here is going so so so so good!! I feel like a rock star missionary right now!! Thanks for reading my emails guys! haha

Fellin' Like A Man

So to start off this week I’m going to make all the men feel a little bit inadequate. This week I bought a straight blade and have been shaving with it all week. I’m pretty sure that when I started using it I literally went from a boy to a man.

So because I turned into a man we found 10 new investigators and they’re way good investigators also! So here it’s been really hot but everybody likes to talk to us and people ask to buy us beers and it’s so nice! Every time we just tell we don’t drink but we would like to pass by and tell them why and they buy us a soda so everything is going really good here!!

To be honest I was more tired this week then my first week in the mission but I go to bed on time so we are waiting for that to go away! I read a story when a guy was at work and he was young, he was just a teenager and stayed out every night late and woke up early for work and was just really tired, he worked  in a university as a janitor and every like four steps was a bench and he was so tired and every bench just looked better and better to laydown and just take a short nap. But when he was young his dad told him that you always give a full days work and if not you are stealing from your boss... In this moment he could barley keep his eyes open. So he said a prayer inside his heart and asked for help, please help me stay awake and complete a full days work... But he didn’t receive anything so he said another one and still didn’t receive anything... Then he said another one but this one was different, it wasn’t just a prayer for help but he said please help me stay awake and complete a full days work...... but even if I don’t receive the help I will complete this day of work.... In this moment he felt the energy he needed.

He had Faith. Faith is a principle of action. He demonstrated that even if he doesn’t get the exact help he needs he’s going to do what he needs to do to complete this day of work... If we don’t do anything to show our faith then we are not going to receive anything. In our lives we have the chance every day to do something better and show that we have enough Faith to act, before we receive. The Lord said in D&C 82:10, I don’t have my scriptures in English so I can’t quote it exactly, but it says that when you do what I ask I am obligated but when you don’t you have no promise... I hear every day that people have Faith but then they have no action. So my question is, Do you have Faith? And if so, what kind of action do you need to do to show your Faith to The Lord.

Sometimes in our work the only thing we can do is have Faith but then I have to think if Faith is action then what more can I do to help this person or receive my answer! I love you all!!

Until next week!!!
