General Conference

Oct 5, 2015

This was just a great week!!! It was really awesome to see 3 new apostles! Honestly I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention before so they will be some Apostle that I will learn to love! There talks were great!!! The other talks were awesome also!!! Something that I learned this week is that conference is like the only real day of rest that missionaries get and it was awesome to be spiritually uplifted at the same time!!! The last one was different for some reason but my companion said he wanted to watch it in English so I was able to watch all except for priesthood in English and it was awesome!

One thing I loved and I hope one day I can do for my kids is what Pablo’s dad did for him. It was really awesome the things he talked about and how you can help your kids grow up with great standards. I know I’m really far away but I make his talk and said read when you have something to do with it.

Another one I liked was ponderize. I loved the idea and I’m excited to get started!

I am starting with the scripture DandC 121 33-35 to help me focus on the thing of God and his power and not so much on the things of the world!!!

I would love for everyone who decided to take this challenge to tell me about their scripture every week! It would make my week and we can grow spiritually together!!

We have an investigator who is way cool and he speaks like 90 percent of English. He is loving the book of Mormon. he has not been able to assist yet but we think it’s because he is scared of what his family will think who are very very catholic but he is one of the first investigators who doesn’t really have a problem financially he has a couple of successful businesses selling food like pizza and hamburgers and he treats us like friends as we help him learn about the gospel and it is so fun to teach him and he always tells us how excited he is about it. It’s so fun and his family is seriously so nice.

President Monson gave us some counsel... KEEP THE COMMANMENTS.

I love you all. Have a great week!!! And tell me what your scripture is!!

Transfers....

Sept 28, 2015

So this week was great!!! it was the last week in the transfer and this last zone meeting that we had they changed the rule where they were calling us really late in the night on Sunday to call us before 1030 on Saturday! It’s way better because now we have time to pack and say by to the members who we served with. but the thing about this week is that we didn’t have transfers and I’m going to kill my companion...(that just means he´ll finish his mission with me.) so it’s going way good in our area.

This week Martha who I was talking about in my last emails we went to her very humble house and we were teaching and she was talking and commented that she didn’t eat anything that day and that the kitchen is dry and they don’t have any money. it just so happened that this day we went to visit some people that make bread for tortas... sandwiches but better... and they gave us two loafs of bread and in this moment it popped in my head that I had this bread and so we gave her these two loafs of bread and she was so excited. It was a great feeling.

we prepared her for her baptism this week and it was so awesome because she went to the house of one of her friends who is less active and told her that she needed to come to church and to forget about themselves and put God first and she wasn’t even baptized! It was so awesome to see she is already doing mission work!! The person who interviewed her said she knew everything and that her testimony is strong. He said she is very prepared to be baptized.

We spent 7 weeks with her and she was baptized on Saturday, she asked me to do the ordinance for her and it was so awesome. She told us that she almost cried when we missionaries sang ´´I am a child of God´´ it was a great experience in all.

Also we are working on helping her children get married. They are both going to be married in the upcoming month. We Hope.

We have other investigators who are starting to progress. The guy who was drunk the last week when we went over, him and his wife came to church this week. It was great.

Also I was doing pull ups and the bar fell... I woke up in the hospital... haha just kidding mom but it only hurt for like a day then it went away haha

I love you all!!! Hope this week was great for you and that the next is also great!!!

This week was sweet. I feel like it’s my last week in this area but who knows. We are having a great time over here and the members in this ward love us. I had the opportunity to send some things home to my family because one of the members has family in Utah and they brought a package to my fam. it was way sweet and I got to get them their Christmas presents via members. Dope.

This week we had a family home evening with some of our investigators. Martha and her family and some members from our ward! It was awesome. As you can see by the subject we read Lehi´s dream. My Uncle one time showed me his 1 Nephi 8 and it had marks to read it Lehi´s dream faster. So I thought I’d give it a try and so I did that and we read it and had they draw what they thought it should look like and also brought a photo by someone who painted it and it was super cool. We had a judge who judged and they were supposed to choose but they said they all looked good... which actually they did so we gave everyone some coconut candy and it was super fun and they loved it. We played some games and then the members had some snacks also. We sang some hymns and what makes me so happy is that her son who is 20 years old loves..... I AM A CHILD OF GOD..... It was the first one we helped him learn and he loves it. And one of the members with buy him a hymn book after he gets baptized. It’s pretty excited to see them progressing and having fun with us as the same time! Martha will be making her first covenant with God this week. Super exciting!!!

I learned something last night. We had a lesson with some lady that is progressing really well. She at first was a little hesitant to let us in but later told us ya come on in and we said cool.  So near the end of our lesson somebody walked in and she said really fast.... I’m sorry he’s been drinking.... and I was like oh... well we´d like to end with a prayer and he walked over and said you guys are talking about God? Well I’m here and I’m the devil. And we were like.... ok what’s gonna happen next.... he shook my hand and then kissed it and then gave my comp a hug. And then we said a prayer and then he put his hand out to shake it again and brought me in for a hug so we gave him a hug.... and then he didn’t want us to leave but we left. So what did I learn? That the drunks just want a hug.

This computer doesn’t have usb so I can’t send pics this week... but I love you guys!!!

Love yall!!!
